You will find the serial number underneath the appliance itself or by logging onto the appliance and going to the status page (usually System -> Status).
Serial number is based on the default MAC address and will include 12 hexadecimal characters starting like 2CB8xxxxxxxx, 18B1xxxxxxxx, 1Cxxxxxxxxx, C0EAxxxxxxxx, 0017xxxxxxxx, 0040xxxxxxxx.
